Transforming Student Life: West Grantham Primary Academy’s Partnership with inspire+
West Grantham Primary Academy has established a robust partnership with inspire+, focusing on promoting physical health, enhancing mental well-being, and improving academic performance. The school’s primary objectives include the effective use of PE Sports Premium and the promotion of social skills among students.
A key initiative facilitated by inspire+ is the Community Activator Coach Award Apprenticeship, which has significantly increased the school’s capacity to deliver active break time activities and after-school sports clubs. This initiative has enabled the school to offer structured physical activity to approximately 60 pupils per week, across two sites, greatly benefiting students’ physical and mental health.
The apprentice has also contributed to core curriculum time, bringing innovative ideas and techniques to PE lessons, and serving as a role model for students. Notably, the apprentice was shortlisted for ‘Lincolnshire Apprentice of the Year’ and won the ‘IEG Partner Apprentice of the Year’, reflecting the positive impact of the program. Additionally, the apprentice has built strong relationships with students, particularly those with SEND, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
The collaboration with inspire+ has been marked by excellent communication and flexibility, allowing the school to tailor programs to its specific needs. The school’s investment in the PE apprentice through the Sports Premium has proven to be sustainable and impactful, ensuring continued benefits for students, staff, and families. Overall, West Grantham Primary Academy highly recommends inspire+ for their extensive support and range of opportunities that significantly enhance the school’s PE and sports programs.
