Level 2 – PE, Sport & Well-being Apprentice
Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Evie Fensome, and I work for the Eastfield Academy in Northampton as a PE & Sport Apprentice.
I am a very hard-working and always reaching for success. I aspired to coach children, hoping they find their love for sports while learning. Before starting my apprenticeship, I was a Gymnastics coach.
Why did you choose to be an inspire+ apprentice?
As I did not want to go to sixth form or college, my only option was to look for an apprenticeship. However, I had no clue if there were apprenticeships in sport. So when I discovered that inspire+ provides this kind of programme, I was thrilled to apply for it.
What did you learn during your apprenticeship?
I have learned so much from my apprenticeship! My progress is huge compared to the start of my training. I have learned how to plan PE lessons, the importance of safeguarding & safe practice, event planning, practical performance and much more!
What did you enjoy about your apprenticeship?
I loved how I was learning and working and earning my own money at the same time. I got so many opportunities at a very young age and learned very quickly.
In addition, I had a really good time building relationships with the children and colleagues, and it was gratifying to see progress in the children.
Do you recommend other people to become an inspire+ apprentice? Explain why.
Yes! It’s the best decision I could have possibly made for myself.
What do you hope to achieve in the future? What are your career ambitions?
Become a qualified coach and work my way up in the industry.
