TESTIMONIALS

What parents say about our camps

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“inspire+ host a fantastic sports camp and great value for money.  It is well organised and offers a variety of activities to suit all ages. My children love going and the team of leaders are very welcoming. It’s difficult when you work full-time to find somewhere for your children to go where you know they are comfortable and enjoy and I would have no reservations in recommending this camp.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“He’s just turned 5 so I was initially concerned about his confidence, especially when playing with older children too. He’s absolutely loved coming every day and has been confident and enthusiastic about going every morning. When I’ve collected him, he’s been full of stories and excitement! It’s been invaluable in allowing me to continue to work during the school holidays, whilst keeping him active, entertained, and happy. I’ll be recommending it to all the school Mum’s! Thanks again!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I just wanted to say thank you for the sports camps provided this half term which have been very professionally run and the staff and helpers are all very friendly and lovely. As he is 10 it gets harder to find childcare for him that isn’t aimed at younger children or isn’t boring. He’s had a fantastic time every day and has been tired at the end of it which is a great bonus so you have obviously got it absolutely spot on.”

Your content goes here. Edit or remove this text inline or in the module Content settings. You can also style every aspect of this content in the module Design settings and even apply custom CSS to this text in the module Advanced settings.

1. Can someone else pick up my child from a holiday camp?

Yes, someone else can collect your child. However, there are certain requirements to ensure their safety. To authorise someone else to collect your child, they must be listed as a collector on the booking system. This is a precautionary measure we take to prioritise the well-being and security of all children in our care.

2. Can my child take a phone / tablet?

Please do not bring any personal items from home such as electronic devices. inspire+ cannot be held responsible for these items and children will not be allowed to use them during the provision. If your child requires their phone for walking to/from the provision, this must be kept in their bag at all times and inspire+ cannot be held responsible for its safe keeping.

3. My child lost an item at a holiday camp. How can I retrieve it?

We will keep items of lost property at the camp for the duration. You can ask a member of the team to check lost property for the described item. If items of lost property are unclaimed at the end of the holiday camp period, they will be stored by inspire+ for 2 months.

4. What to do if my child is unwell?

If your child is unwell, we would ask that they do not attend the camp on that day and to follow medical guidance on when it is appropriate for your child to return to camp.

5. How can I check if my booking is confirmed?

You can check that your booking is confirmed by visiting our booking system and looking at the dates booked.

6. Are the coaches DBS checked?

All staff working on the camp are DBS checked.

7. Do you accept childcare vouchers?

No, unfortunately we are unable to accept childcare vouchers.

8. Do you provide lunch?

Yes, a hot healthy lunch is provided when your child’s space is booked on the programme. Please ensure that your account is up to date with all allergies and dietary requirements.

9. What does my child need to bring / wear?

Please ensure your child has suitable clothing and footwear for indoor and outdoor activities, including a waterproof coat and hat. Please also ensure your child has a labelled water bottle.

Any medication required by your child must be clearly named, in a bag and given to a member of staff at registration. It is your responsibility to alert us of any conditions that may affect your child during their time with us so we can accommodate their needs.

10. Can my days be changes or cancelled at short notice?

We ask that as much notice as possible is given if you no longer need the days you have booked. This is so we can reallocate your child’s place to someone on our waiting list (where applicable). We understand that inevitably sometimes plans have to change, and where possible we will accommodate changes.

11. What if I need to make changes to my bookings?

You can make changes to your booking by using our booking system.

12. My child has specific medical conditions. What do you need to know?

Please include all information on your account to outline your child’s medical condition. If we have any further questions on this, we will call you to discuss it.

If any medicine is required throughout the day, we require written permission and instruction to be able to facilitate your child taking this. All medication must be handed over at the start of the day and will be returned to you at the end of the day.

13. My child carries an Epi-pen. Do I need to let you know?

Yes, please inform us that your child has an epi-pen and outline any allergies to be aware of. We require the epi-pen to be handed to a member of staff at the start of the day, along with a note outlining details of allergies and giving written permission to administer. At all of our camps, there are staff with paediatric first aid training qualifications.

14. My child needs extra help. Can they still come to the camp?

In advance of the camp, we ask that you outline any additional needs when making your account/booking. Please ensure this is checked and updated regularly to reflect any changes. Our camps are friendly and inclusive, and we want to work with parents to ensure appropriate support is in place for children with additional needs.

Please contact us to discuss this further at the time of booking if you have any queries.

A member of the team will make contact with you to discuss your child’s needs further, and we may make contact with the school to discuss any specific arrangements in place for your child to enable a smooth transition to our holiday camp provision.

15. Where do we pick up and drop off the children?
  • Registration & collection of children will take place at the main entrance to the school. A parent/responsible adult must come to the door to collect the children at the end of the day. Children will not be allowed to leave unaccompanied (unless we have permission granted).
  • Please ensure social distancing is maintained between families and we ask for parents to try and avoid queuing.
  • One family will be registered at a time.
  • Registration will take place outside, in the event of bad weather only one family will be permitted into reception at a time.
  • Only one adult is permitted to accompany a child to and from the provision.
  • If you know you will be late to registration, please let us know in advance at info@inspireplus.org.uk or call 01476 578137
16. Will children and staff have to wear a face covering in the provision?

Not for children, unless they wish to.  For staff they will be required to wear a mask for certain situations i.e. when a child requires intimate care (first aid) or is displaying the symptoms of the virus then the supervising adult will need to make use of PPE. Our staff will also have the option to wear a face mask at any time if that makes them feel comfortable.

17. What will children have to do when they come into the provision?

Children will be asked to wash their hands once they put their belongings away and they will be asked to wash their hands frequently especially if they cough/sneeze as well as after they have used their equipment and before/ after eating. We are sure everyone is used to washing their hands more often these days and we will continue to encourage the children to do this. Markers will be placed where necessary as visual reminders of social distance and our activities where possible will have minimal or no equipment involved.

18. What if someone displays symptoms of Covid-19?

We are required to take a robust and precautionary approach to anyone on site with anyone, or more, of the three main Covid-19 symptoms. The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you have noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
  • Please note that there are other factors that can now be symptoms and we ask that you keep updated on what these are.

If your child starts displaying any of the above symptoms, we will require you to collect your child and take them home. If your child displays symptoms at home they should not attend the provision.  They need to take a lateral flow test we will need to be notified of the results. We anticipate that everyone will support and follow this advice.

Please be reassured that if we need to isolate your child this will be done in a very discreet and child-friendly manner.

19. Will the provision be closed in the case of a positive case?

We reserve the right to make decisions on lateral flow tests and children showing symptoms to close the camp and switch to a virtual delivery if we deem there to be an outbreak at the provision following advice from Public Health England.

If a member of inspire+ staff tests positive, then this may result in the provision closing if staff cover is unable to be found.

If a provision does have to close, we will be offering a virtual alternative to continue to support children with activities and challenges to complete at home.

We are fully aware that any closure of provision may affect working families and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause however this is for the safety of your child(ren), families and our staff which is of the highest importance to us.

20. If a member of my household is displaying symptoms or has tested positive for Covid-19 can my child still attend the provision?

In this eventuality, we would kindly ask you to please keep your child away for their friends, their family and our staff’s protection. However, if this is not possible and your child/ren produces a negative lateral flow test then they are able to attend.

21. What are the expectations of my child whilst attending your provision?

Expectations of all participants will be to display the Olympic and Paralympic values which are friendship, respect, excellence, equality, courage, determination, and inspiration. Your child will be in a happy environment, and we will not tolerate any forms of misbehaviour, foul language, or bullying. Please be aware that if your child does misbehave then they will be given a warning and miss out on activities. If they continue to misbehave either on the same day or the following day, it will result in us contacting you to come and collect your child. We expect all children to join in with all activities, any child refusing to participate without valued reason could also be sent home from the provision.

22. What shouldn’t my child bring to camp?

Please do not bring any toys or personal items from home such as electronic devices. inspire+ cannot be held responsible for these items and children will not be allowed to use them during the provision.

We have a number of children that attend the provisions who have airborne allergies to nuts and seeds, meaning that if someone nearby has nuts or seeds for example; seeded bread / Nutella / nuts i.e. cashew/almonds/peanuts etc. Therefore, we ask for parents not to provide snacks/lunches with nut-based products.

We also ask that no unhealthy snacks, food or drinks are brought onto the premises.

23. What if my child has difficulty settling at the camp?

We are a friendly, inclusive camp, and our staff are highly trained and experienced at dealing with children that may find it difficult to settle in a new environment. Please include any information on your child that might help them to settle in the comments section when booking and discuss any concerns with a member of the team.

24. When do you run camps?

Our holiday camps currently run during the half-terms and school holidays. Dates to be confirmed.

25. What age children attend?

Our holiday camp provisions are for children aged 5 – 16.
