Lisa Ashcroft
SPECIALIST SPORTS COACH
After leaving school, I went to college and earned a PE diploma before joining the military. After several years serving in the Royal Air Force, my volunteer work with young people in children’s centres, schools and athletics clubs bought me into coaching and later working in education.
With an enjoyment for coaching athletics at grassroot level, I became a coaching assistant and later progressed up the coaching pathway to complete my UKA Children’s Coach qualification and then Athletics Coach qualifications. I continue to work with youth development at grassroots. In addition, being a UKA Official, I officiate at track and field events cross-country and Sportshall athletics at club, county, and regional levels.
I’m involved with the Lincolnshire Athletics Association supporting events such as cross-country and Sportshall athletics and officiating at youth development competitions and the Northern league track and field events.
Working in education I also have a diploma in Learning Support & Teaching in Schools.
I’ve been involved as a coaching specialist with inspire+ since 2014, delivering on all sorts of initiatives from talented athlete programs to supporting apprenticeship workshops, Sports leadership Academy and CPD for teaching staff & people that work with young people in sport along with delivering PE lessons within the curriculum.
