Sharon Bray
CANDIDATE & EMPLOYER LIAISON/VISITING TUTOR
I have always been passionate about Sport and Physical Education. Growing up in Grantham, I was fortunate to be involved in many Primary and Secondary sporting competitions, which fuelled my desire to participate in every sport possible!
A fantastic Physical Education Teacher at my secondary school encouraged my passion and helped me develop my ability and find the opportunities to play at School, County and Regional levels taking part in many different Sports. Signposting my parents and me to clubs even out of County in order so I could develop to the highest levels possible; also assisting with transport if necessary.
She was also responsible for two of us from our school attending England under 18 Netball trials at Crystal Palace, a truly memorable experience. Although I did not quite make the cut at that point, being in the mix until the very final day, it will always be something special. I realised then if not for her brilliant teaching and coaching, I would never have gotten that far; with that light bulb moment, I decided that I would become a secondary school Physical Education Teacher and, like her, help develop the love of sport and Physical activity in the future generations.
Thus, my career in sport began at Liverpool I.M Marsh PE College (John Moore’s University) through to my first post in Nottinghamshire, then secondary schools in Grantham. I was proud and delighted to be involved in the Southwest Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership, which gave me massive opportunities to develop my passion and ambition to help youngsters develop a love of Sport and Physical activity. I still do this in my role as part of The Southwest Lincolnshire School Games.
